Defy Gravity Technique

Model's hair was virgin with an existing level of 3N.

Defy Color : The Formulas
Formula #1 40mL - Colorance Color Plus Intensive Lotion 10mL - Colorance Color Plus Enhancer Natural 2-3 10mL - Colorance Acid Color 2A	Formula #2 40mL - Colorance Color Plus Intensive Lotion 10mL - Colorance Color Plus enhancer V 10mL - Colorance Acid Color 2A

COLOR

1. Comb hair into 3 sections by making 2 partings on the top of the head. Parting #1 should be left of the center Mohawk, and parting #2 right of the center. The remaining middle section becomes section #3. Clip all 3 sections. (fig. A)

2. Apply Colorance formula #1 from scalp to ends throughout sections #1 and #2, as well as the remaining contours and nape area.

3. Apply Colorance formula #2 from scalp to ends throughout section #3. This will enhance the Mohawk effect. (fig. A)

4. Process 25 minutes. Shampoo and condition with Definition Color & Highlights shampoo and conditioner.


CUT

1. Section hair from forehead to crown creating a rectangular Mohawk shape. (fig. B)

2. Establish Mohawk length by cutting the top and crown area at a 90° angle, approximately 3"-4" in length. (fig. C)

3. Create the contours of the sides and back cutting with a 90° angle to approximately 2"-3". (fig. D)

4. Soften the perimeter with a razor to complete the Mohawk design. (fig. E)


STYLE

1. Blow-dry hair to remove moisture. Section off top and crown into panels and apply Trendline Freeze Pudding to mold and sculpt from scalp to ends.

2. Lift first panel upright and spray with Trendline Finish Spray aerosol.

3. Use a flat iron on hair panel from scalp to ends to make the panel stand upright.

4. Repeat styling technique throughout top and crown panels.

5. Finish Mohawk with Trendline Finish Spray non-aerosol. Smooth the contours with Trendline Shine Wax.
